Hi, I’m Mary Grace…

Having gone through many trials from the age of 8, I know firsthand how overwhelming lifecan be when you're young and hurting. But I also know the steady, unshakable love of Jesus—the kind of hope that holds you when nothing else makes sense. It’s this hope that carried me through the darkest seasons, and it’s this same hope I now pour into every story I write.

My heart beats for children and families walking through pain, loss, or uncertainty. Through gentle words, relatable characters, and faith-filled truth, I aim to help others know they are never alone, never forgotten, and always loved by a God who sees them.

If just one child can see themselves in my stories and feel encouraged to keep going—then I’ve done what I was called to do.

Mary shares how losing her father in a tragic farm accident at just eight years old shaped her life, her faith, her anxiety, and ultimately, her writing. Together, we talk about grief, healing, imposter syndrome, childhood loss, emotional healing, and the courage it takes to finally tell the truth about our stories.

It was a hot, sunny day in May 1971, when my 37-year-old mother loaded the five of us kids into the pickup to take lunch to Daddy in the field where he was discing the ground. Living on a farm was a great life for us during those days.

It was just a year ago in July that I made the decision to return to teaching part-time and started planning for yet another school year. I had been a teacher for 20+ years and enjoyed teaching English, language arts, and reading to grades 6-12.
